How to Choose a Florist and Flowers for a Wedding
Follow these florist guidelines and go over them in advance of your wedding day. But before your wedding, you are probably wondering how to choose a florist for a wedding? What is expected of the company you go with? Please read the following article for some insight into asking the right questions.

When you visit the florist of your choice, have the following information: your wedding style, your wedding gown color and style, your bridal attendants colored fabric swatches, the colors of the mothers and grandmothers dresses, and what type of corsage they prefer (pinned to the shoulder, waist, or purse, or carried or worn on the wrist), pictures or diagrams of the ceremony and reception sites and their color schemes, any restrictions concerning the floral decorations or use of candles, an approximate number and types of arrangements you will need, and the length of the aisle you will be using.

How to Choose a Florist for a Wedding

Does the florist offer a wedding package? What is included? Can you make any substitutions?

A skilled wedding florist can stay within your floral budget by selecting flowers that are in season, by controlling the sizes of bouquets and corsages, by inserting more greenery with the flowers, and by utilizing many of the flowers from the ceremony at the reception site.

You might consider renting potted plants, flowers, and trees for decorations.

The bridal bouquet may be very colorful or done entirely with white flowers and greenery using a combination of flowers in a variety of sizes. They style of the bouquet should complement the style of the gown:

- formal gowns: cascade, crescent, or over-arm bouquets
- in formal gowns: nosegay and oval-shaped bouquets or a few flowers wrapped with ribbon.

The style of the bouquet should also complement the brides height - smaller bouquets using more delicate flowers for petite brides, longer and larger bouquets for taller brides.

How to Choose Flowers for a Wedding

Do you want to know how to choose flowers for a wedding? Well first we have to know some great ones to talk about with your florist. Flowers to consider for your wedding are asters, camellias, daisies, freesia, gardenias, iries, lilies, lilies of the valley, orchids, roses, stephanotis, tulips, violets, and others.

Flower arrangements (bouquets or centerpieces) may be made with silk or dried flowers, as well as fresh. If you decide to have a going-away corsage, it can be made as part of your bridal bouquet. The florists call this a break-away bouquet. Have the florist make a small bouquet for tossing at the reception, particularly of you want to preserve your bridal bouquet.

To identify the honor attendant, her bouquet can be a different color or larger than the other attendants. The flower girl can carry petals or flowers in a basket or a miniature bouquet. The grooms boutonniere is usually taken from the flowers in the brides bouquet and is different from all the other boutonnieres.

Extra corsages and boutonnieres could be provided for the soloists, instrumentalists, officiant, if he isn't wearing a robe, guest book and gift attendants, wedding, hostess, cake server and hospitality committee, and any other special people. Flowers are not necessary for those who charge a fee.

Have the florist pin the individual names to the corsages, bouquets, and boutonnieres for easy dispersal at the ceremony site. To aid your wedding coordinator, have a family member or close friend available to identify those people other than the bridal party who are to receive flowers at your wedding.

Keep the flowers refrigerated until the last possible moment. The individual bouquets may be inserted into water-filled tubes. Remove the bouquets and pay them dry before carrying.

If you are not using spring-loaded candles, freeze the candles ahead of time to prevent or lessen their dripping. Then prelight them to ensure easy lighting during the ceremony. Do not use spring-loaded candles in the unity candelabra.

If the aisle runner is to extend up the altar steps, be certain it is firmly secured to prevent slippage.

The decorations for a military wedding may include the American flag and the colors of the brides and or grooms military unity. Consult with the ceremony site for permission to use these.

Boutonnieres are not worn with military uniforms.

It is best at large weddings to have a guest book that can have its pages easily removed. By placing the pages at opposite ends of the table, you create two areas for signing. A floral table spray placed in the middle of the table could be used for decoration.

If you are having only one place for your guests to register, then a small arrangement - perhaps two or three flowers, babys breath, greenery , and a bow - could be used for the guest book stand.

Stanchions placed outdoors and decorated with bows and greenery could be used to direct those guests unfamiliar with either the ceremony or reception sites. If your reception is a stand up affair, only a few arrangements and garlands for the serving, punch, and cake tables will be needed. If the reception is a sit-down dinner, you will need to plan centerpieces for each table in addition to any other decoration you might desire.

The bridal attendants bouquet can be used as decorations by placing them around the cake or on the brides table. To fully unitlize your flowers, designate someone to transfer them from the ceremony site to the reception. The floral baskets from your ceremony could be positioned at either end of the receiving line, beside the cake table, or behind the brides table. Any floral pew arrangements could also be used as decorations at the reception. Have the florist fix them for easy transfer.

Also as a final reminder, it is nice to order flowers to be sent to your parents homes one or two days after the wedding as a special thank-you gift.

Another nice gesture is to send flowers to your bridal shower and party hostesses. Tell the florist the kind, date, time, and place of each event.

Wedding Presents 101
Wedding details are normally focused on wedding dresses, the wedding cake, the meals, the entourage, the invitations, and so on. Perhaps the last thing on everyone's minds are the wedding party gifts and giveaways such as gifts for the bridesmaids and groomsmen and ring bearer presents. However, a wedding isn't a wedding without these presents. Doing without them will be defying custom. Still, merely because this is a typical tradition does not mean your gifts will be customary too, like the rather basic men's wallets. In selecting a present, you must be sensitive enough to pick one that's fitting for the person you're offering it to. They need to be well thought out, customized, and should be something that would bring into play pleasant memories in the years to follow. It must be something that he could utilize at a regular basis or something that he gathers or is related to his hobbies and interests. A Swiss Army knife may be fantastic for the outdoorsy type and for the individuals who love tinkering with stuff around the house. The same manner cigar accessories could brighten a cigar enthuasiast's eyes. Normally, engraved hip flasks and lighters would do just perfect for groomsmen and bridesmaids, yet sometimes this is quite too plain or too commonplace especially for executives and career individuals. Cross fountain pens are available in various price ranges and you could select which ones you can practically afford that would be essential for these persons. You could have them customized with engravings or emblems for an additional personal touch. Cufflinks would also be superb. You may either send them with designer cufflinks if your finances would allow it or one of the themed cufflinks. Research what his well-loved sport is, his likes, even his favorite hero. There are Superman cufflinks that you may immediately buy if he's into Superman or an emblem of his organization if he's an active member of one. For the executive who is always on the road, travel lovers, or for those whose work requires so much traveling, whether to various states or various countries, travel clocks would be a hit. Sending them multi-time zone clocks or one of those atomic clocks could be so considerate. If you are on tight finances, do not fret. At $15, you can discover fantastic travel clocks without any hassle. But if you can go for the 100-dollar tag price and above to make an impression, by all means, do so. When you are looking for perfect gifts that your pals could remember you by, go for practicality. It does not need to be certainly fancy that the receiver would be frightened to use it or something unimportant to him that there is no other alternative but to put it in a box and keep it in the attic. It could be as showy as fine front pocket wallets composed of top grain leather or as cheap as a cell phone flask, as long as you are aware that it is something the recipient is really into, the tag price won't really matter, would it?

Responsibilities of the Bridal Party
Bridal attendants are chosen from your close friends and family members, including any sisters of the groom. You may elect to have both a maid and matron of honor, but you will have to designate which one will attend you at the alter, to hold your bouquet and the groom's ring, and to help your veil and train. However, there are many responsibilities of the bridal party. If you decide to have a flower girl, the best ages are between four and nine. If any are younger than this, be prepared for the unexpected to happen, because a younger child's actions can be very unpredictable. If you decide to have children in your wedding party who are under four years of age, you may want to have them seated with their parents once the officiant has asked, "Who gives this woman?" They can later follow the bride and groom back up the aisle during the recessional. Responsibilities of the Bridal Party What are the responsibilities of the bridal party? Junior bridesmaids’ are generally between the ages of ten and sixteen. Bridesmaids are usually sixteen years of age and older. Special others can be included in the house party by having them preside over the guest book and gift tables, distribute rice, serve the cake and punch, entertain the guests, provide housing and transportation, or cover various details for you. When a remarriage occurs and there are children involved (yours, the groom's, or both), give them all honored positions in the day's activities. It they are willing, you could have the children stand with you at the altar. Teenagers or adult children may serve as your honor attendants. Younger children could serve as flower girls or ring bearers. They could also escort you down the aisle. They can further participate in the ceremony by reading a special poem, Scripture, or prayer. When you plans involve children from former marriages, you may need to check with the other parents before involving them in your wedding activities. When selecting the bridal attendants dresses and accessories; consider their financial status and if the dress will be useful to them afterward. If possible, have a couple of your attendants try on two or three different styles of dresses. It is nice to ask them for their opinion, but the final choice is your. Order the dresses at the same time to avoid any variations in color and design. The flower girls dress may be the same style as the bridesmaids or a dress of complementary style and color. It may also be shorter in length for ease of movement. In some ceremony locations, your attendants may be required to have their heads covered; otherwise, the choice is your. Attendants shoes should be of the same style, but the height of the heels may vary according to the girl’s heights and their individual need for comfort. If the attendants shoes are being dyed to match, have them done at the same place and time to ensure color conformity. Also be sure to select a complimentary shade of hosiery and purchase two pairs for each attendant (an extra pair for emergencies). Any jewelry that is worn should be small and dainty, of the same or similar style. Any gloves that are worn should be of the same style and length. Use fabric swatches to coordinate colors of lipstick and nail polish for the attendants. For dresses other than floor length, it is better to have the hems measured down from the knee of each bridesmaid rather than the same distance up from the floor. Just as the head heights of the girls vary, so should their hem lengths. The overall appearance of each girl in her dress is far more important than all dresses being the same distance from the floor. If possible, have everyone dress at the ceremony site to avoid wrinkling dresses in transit. Bridal attendants should be invited to all parties given for the bride or the bride and groom, including the rehearsal dinner. The only exceptions may be special group or office parties. The flower girl is not usually invited to the bridal parties, but her mother is. Her parents may be invited to any parties given for both the bride and groom, and her father to any bachelor parties. Invite the flower girl to the rehearsal dinner. If it is the night before the wedding, her parents may decide to have her forgo the dinner so she'll be rested for the wedding day. Your gifts to the bridesmaids are usually alike, but the honor attendant’s gift may vary from the others in style and design. The flower girl may receive a different type of gift than the other attendants. Possible gift choices: for bridesmaids - keepsake boxes, books, compacts, cosmetic bags, crystal, evening bags, engraved pens and pencil sets, jewelry, jewelry cases, perfume, photo albums, picture frames, porcelain, or stationary; for the flower girl - charm bracelet, china doll, jewelry box, piggy bank, or stuffed animal. Responsibilities of the Maid/Matron of Honor Before the wedding, she - may help you in such ways as addressing invitations and entertaining out-of-town guests. - is responsible for making and keeping any alteration appointments. - should wear the lingerie and shoes she will be wearing for the wedding when she goes for fittings, to ensure a more perfect fit. - must attend the wedding rehearsal. - arrives early at a designated place to help you dress. During the ceremony, she - precedes you and your father in the processional - arranges your train at the altar. - holds the bridal bouquet at the required time. - may be in charge of the grooms ring in a double-ring ceremony until it is needed. - adjusts your veil and again arranges your train for the recessional. - usually walks with the best man in the recessional. - signs the marriage license. At the reception, she - stands next to the groom in the receiving line. - sits on the grooms left during a sit-down meal. - helps you change into your going-away cloths. - informs the parents when the bridal couple is ready to leave. Responsibilities of the Bridesmaids Before the wedding, they - may help you address invitations and assist with any errands. - are responsible for individually making and keeping their alteration appointments. - should wear the lingerie and shoes they will be wearing for the wedding when they go for fittings, to ensure a more perfect fit. - must attend the wedding rehearsal. During the ceremony, they - either walk alone, in pairs, or with an usher in the processional. - are usually escorted by the ushers in the recessional. When there are more bridesmaids than ushers, the extras can walk alone or in pairs. At the reception, they - may stand in the receiving line. - sit at either the brides table or a special attendants table during a sit-down or buffet dinner, seated in alternating positions with the ushers around the table. - mingle with the guests, helping the hosts entertain. Responsibilities of the Flower Girl Before the wedding, she - is responsible for making and keeping her alteration appointments. - should wear the lingerie and shoes she will be wearing for the wedding when she does for fittings, to ensure a more perfect fit. - must attend the wedding rehearsal. - may attend the rehearsal dinner along with her parents. During the ceremony, she - walks, alone or with the ring bearer, directly in front of you and your father in the processional. - may stand with the bridal party at the altar or be seated with her parents during the ceremony. - may follow directly behind the bride and groom in the recessional. At the reception, she - does not stand in the receiving line. - either remains with her parents or sits at a special table for children under adult supervision.

Men's Wedding Bands: The Titanium Age
It is fairly common for men to play a secondary role when planning for their wedding. It’s even more commonplace to see these same men in an unexcited state when it comes to wearing a wedding band. Being a married man I can attest to this because at that time and prior to my engagement I loathed wearing any type of jewelry. Mind you most men have no problem letting others know they’re off the market, however the choices for Mens Wedding Bands has traditionally been very limited and somewhat unappealing which has caused a majority of men to cringe at these choices. As the pendulum swings both ways, and as doors open and close, opinions have changed dramatically in the past few years regarding men’s wedding bands. I believe this change can be attributed mainly to the new, classier selection of wedding bands available and even to the more affordable choices being offered. Leading the charge in this change of opinions are Titanium wedding rings. Though they are available for both brides and grooms Titanium rings are immensely popular with men for two big reasons, price and stylish presentation. Titanium wedding bands boast a unique look that men wont find in the more traditional gold, silver, and even diamond rings. In addition to that the cost of these types of rings allows those who are budget conscience to dedicate a little extra to the wedding as prices are generally much more affordable when compared to more traditional rings. Another popular choice for alternative men’s wedding bands is Tungsten. Tungsten offers up many of the same things Titanium does in terms of affordability, attractiveness and boast many different designs that aren’t found in traditional rings. These newer metals have allowed many men who would have never considered wearing a wedding band to be comfortable with a stylish ring. Other men who may have just not cared much for sliver, gold, and diamond now have several alternatives that come not just in different colors but styles that can be considered more “manly”. So which ring did I settle on? Well initially I was unimpressed with all of the rings my then fianc©e and I viewed and as I was not the type of male to wear any type of jewelry I tried to convince her to allow me to remain ring free. She is a more traditional type of person than I, and I was talked into taking a look at some alternative choices for my mens wedding bands. I saw Tungsten and Titanium and ended up going with the latter as I found a solid black Titanium ring that fit both my personal style of dress and sense of humor perfectly.

A married man of three years, Scott now finds <a href=http://www.titanium-jewelry.com/mens-wedding-bands.html>mens wedding bands</a> acceptable.
Planning a Budget Wedding.
Planning A Budget Wedding.
I'm sure you have seen the Steve Martin film, "Father of the Bride" where his daughter's wedding gets out of control, with Wedding Co-Ordinators, Ice Sculptors and so on.

It is not as ludicrous as it at first glance appears, as many weddings have spiralled out of control and there is a rule of thumb: "The More You Spend on a Wedding, the Tackier it gets". Of course, this is not always the case, but there is a growing trend towards Budget Weddings, and rightly so.

Spending your life savings on your big day is not just crazy, it is insanely idiotic. Wouldn’t you rather have money to put down on a house and furnish it, or to pay for your honeymoon? In fact, the down payment for a house or mortgage is far more beneficial for your future happiness. You can have elegant, beautiful weddings and receptions without having to go broke in the process.

Today’s couples know that weddings on a budget just make more sense than spending like crazy. That and the days when the bride’s parents pay for everything is just about over. Nowadays couples are often spending their own money on the wedding as many of them live together long before the wedding day. Budget Weddings don’t have to mean that you have to give up on style or sentimentality. It means using your imagination, and using your own hands or the help of friends and family rather than paying through the nose for professionals.

You can save some money without skimping on any of the good stuff. You don’t have to do what everyone else is doing to make your day special. There are so many ideas that can make your wedding a great deal cheaper in the long run.

Some of these ideas include:

Buying your dress secondhand ; Having friends and family make your food and cake for you in lieu of a wedding gift ; Using an MP3 player instead of hiring a DJ ; Having your reception at home with only close friends and family ; Not inviting the entire universe to your wedding.

There are just so many things that you can do to make your wedding days a bit cheaper that this article alone cannot cover them all. Brainstorm and use your imagination to find more ways to plan your budget wedding. You can have your wedding outdoors, in your garden or ask a family member if they can host your reception. Have theme based weddings that can be easy to create. Theme weddings always take a lot of the cost out of throwing a big and expensive wedding and they are always a lot of fun for everyone that is involved.

In conclusion, there are many ways to plan a budget wedding. Careful thought and careful selection of services you purchase and guests you invite should be at the forefront of your mind. Trim the guest list to include only friends and family that are close to you. This is difficult to do but sometimes it is necessary if the cost per guest is going to break your budget. Think about it like this; you can simply cross off the names on the list of guests who might feel obligated to come to the wedding if they are invited, but would not be upset in the least if they are not asked to attend. Invite only the people who are important to you and your parents, rather than everyone you know. This is the most cost-saving thing you can do in planning your budget wedding.

Destination Weddings
Destination weddings are becoming more and more popular especially for couples looking to create a memorable occasion without breaking the bank. They are the most convenient choice for busy couples and provide all the exciting extras that wedding day dreams are made of. Destination weddings are perfect for couples who don't want to worry about the large church ceremony and the large number of guests and formalities that are often expected in traditional weddings. Typically planned as small, intimate affairs, destination weddings are getting larger and can be lavish and expensive. Although, most are small romantic affairs with family and close friends typically ranging in price between $500.00 - $5000.00. Destination weddings are usually packaged together as wedding ceremony, flowers, photos, reception, lodging and can easily be personalized. Destination weddings have become "the trip of a lifetime". Popular locations include the Caribbean, Hawaii, California, and Florida. While on an Alaska cruise we saw a couple getting married on a glacier. The bride wore a beautiful long white coat and the groom wore a black tuxedo. It was absolutely beautiful and I am sure will always be a special memory for them as well as their guests. Magical Wedding Dance Ideas for your Special Day
Everyone loves a nice wedding. There is just something about seeing two people in love make a commitment to share each others lives until they are both old and grey. If this is the reason why everyone likes weddings then why is it that more people will come to the reception than the actual church ceremony?

Having a memorable wedding takes hard work but let’s face it, about three quarters of your wedding guests will attend your reception only. Who can turn up free food and booze? I know I am just as guilty as everyone else.

Well, if your guests will only be attending the reception, make it a reception they will never forget. Start by planning out what will happen on the dance floor which is the third most populated venue of a reception behind the bar and the food table. Here some ideas how to spice up special day by adding a little excitement to your reception’s dance floor.

Tips for the Dance Floor

  • Planning " Ok, what part of your wedding doesn’t have to be planned for?? You’re right. Everything does and the dance floor while not as important as the menu is, it still needs to be thought out. Schedule a meeting with the DJ and go over some of the things you’ll want to do. If there are certain types of dance songs you want played or what kind of traditions your family does at weddings like the bouquet toss, garter auction, and dollar dances. You’ll also want to go over which events your bridal party will need to be a part of. This way, they will know where they have to be and when they're supposed.

  • Have guests share your lives with others " Everyone enjoys a good love story especially if they are witnesses to the happy ending of it at your wedding. Have some of your friends and family share stories about the two of you from a microphone. Maybe you some friends who could do an impromptu skit about the two of you.

  • Take the reins off your guests and see what happens " Weddings are fun for your guests so let them have it! Since, you will be the focus of the wedding who else to them but you two. I just read about one wedding not too long ago that made each table recite a line or two from one of their favorite love poems in order to make the bride and groom kiss instead of the usual clanking of glasses. Require your bridal party to take ballroom dance lessons and have them get your guests involved on the dance floor. By making the night interesting and fun for your guests will ensure a wedding they will never forget.

Dance Ideas

  • Anniversary Dance " There are quite a few different variations to the tradition. Some families will do it differently than others, but the most common form that I have seen is when the bride and groom will ask for all of the married couples to get on the dance floor. The music will then start and take a break to ask for anyone married less than 12 hours to sit down, then less than 1 year to sit down, then 5 years, then 10 years, and so on. The couple that has been married the longest, usually someone’s grandparents, will be left on the dance floor. It is a romantic yet sentimental moment for the families.

  • Father-Daughter Mother-Son Dance " Do I really need to explain what this is? The father-daughter and mother-son dance is an oldie but still a goodie. This dance gives people that nice warm fuzzy feeling to see two "kids" grown up and making a life-long commitment. Plus, how often is it that you’ll get to see the father of the bride cry?
